Desirable: Any experience in handling microscopy, sample preparation like ion polishing and electropolishing is desirable. Additionally, any experience in instrumental maintenance is also desirable.

Minimum Essential Qualification: PhD in Physics, Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering 

Desirable: Experience in one or more of these following areas are desirable:

1.   Hands-on experience characterizing mechanical, rheological and surface physical properties of materials such as polymers, biological systems, thin films, composites and soft materials using equipment such as atomic force microscopy (AFM), rheometers and UTMs.  

2. Hands-on experience in magnetic thin films and their characterizations 

Job Specification: The Project Scientist will be in charge of the following equipment at the IITH SATHI-CISCoM facility: (1) Atomic Force Microscope, (2) Magneto-optic Kerr (MOKE) Microscope and (3) Rheometer.  The job will entail maintaining the equipment in good working condition (via periodic calibration, and interfacing with the manufacturer for maintenance and service visits), conducting 1 training for new users, conducting sample measurement for user requests and interfacing with the rest of the SATHI-CISCoM Committee to maintain the facility in a healthy, accessible working condition

Minimum Essential Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized university or equivalent with first class and 4 years’ experience in Research and Development in Industry and Academic Institutions / Science and Technology Organizations of scientific services. 

Desirable: Experience in implementing and monitoring of R&D Projects and project management, team management, vendor management and documentation of Sophisticated equipment is desirable. 

Job Specification: Implementation and monitoring of the scientific projects, liasoning with the funding and R&D organisations/ overall management of R&D project related activities with the academia and Industry.  Other duties in the SATHI-CISCoM centre as assigned from time to time.
